From the owner

We are in a quiet village location surrounded by beautiful countryside and close to the River Trent. Stable Cottage was originally a block of 3 stables that has been converted into a beautiful 2 bedroom holiday cottage. It's interior has a vintage / shabby chic look and is light and spacious. There is a 'secret garden' for your sole use during your stay which is perfect for al fresco dining. There is off road parking just outside the cottage. Open the patio doors in the kitchen and again, you have your own private space for dining or a chilled glass of wine! There are 2 bedrooms (one double and one single). Heating is by thermostatically controlled radiators in each room. The lounge is spacious and light, the cupboard under the TV/DVD has a selection of books and games for you to use during your stay. Seating in the kitchen comprises of a fold out table and 2 chairs with an antique church pew offering additional dining seating. You will find the kitchen fully equipped with a dishwasher and washing machine for your convenience, no washing up by hand necessary during your holiday! Our house is opposite the cottage and we will be available should you have any queries or need to know anything about getting out and about during your stay. Our hens can be seen wandering round in their secure pen now as Mr and Mrs Fox decided they wanted lots of chicken for their dinner! If you are lucky, 'our girls' may lay some lovely fresh eggs for your breakfast!

Please note, we have upgraded out internet to BT Fibreoptic but the service is not good at present. We are trying to resolve this with BT. Please consider that wifi may not be good / available during your stay.

Why can't I call Simon (the owner) before booking?

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Simon (the owner) a message.

If Simon (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
