From the owner

Reminiscent of the old clinker boats that coastal communities have used to store tools and nets, most notably on Northumberland’s own Lindisfarne Island, our glamping cabins are designed to resemble upturned fishing boats – but with all the home comforts that have created a beautiful all season living space. They are individually named after some of the historical farm steadings and fields in Langley: Blackcleugh is near to the bank of the reservoir and enjoys a fantastic view over the lake.

There is a gravel carpark at the entrance to the site from where paths lead to your cabin. Cars cannot be parked right next to your accommodation, however it is only a very short walk (really – just a few paces!) to get to them! If you may have difficulty getting your personal belongings to your cabin, then we will be able to help you – just let us know.

Each cabin has an en-suite shower room, with a shower, flushing loo, washbasin and shaver socket. The kitchenette is provided with a sink, fridge, kettle, toaster, electric double ceramic hob and an oven with a grill. Heating is also provided by means of an electric heater. A smart TV with DVD player (we are currently working on the aerial and internet connection, but the DVD works and you can connect your own technology!) is also installed in each cabin. We provide a bluetooth speaker in each cabin too.

Each cabin can accommodate up to 4 adults. There is a king sized fixed double bed; this area can be curtained off from the rest of the living space where there is a king sized double sofa bed. From mid-August we will have installed a child's drop down bunk over the fixed double bed so a family of 5 will be able to be accommodated.

Outside the stable-style doorway there is private decking, leading onto a gravelled area where each cabin has a firepit and outdoor seating area. Wood and charcoal for the firepit is available at our fishing lodge and fire-packs containing wood, kindling and firelighters can also be purchased (or pre-ordered so they are ready for you on arrival at your cabin). All fuel burnt on site must be purchased from us. The firepits have a BBQ grill and cooking tripod attachment and we request that this is used for BBQ purposes – sorry no private BBQs are to be brought onto the site.

The cabins overlook our outstanding fly fishery, and guests are welcomed and encouraged to enjoy the fishing we have on-site.

Interaction with guest

Depending on your arrival time someone will be at the site to meet you or we will arrange with you a pick up point for your keys. We want you to feel totally relaxed through your stay and although we will get up to see you as soon as we can we will not be continually around. We make sure you have our contact numbers and are always on the end of the phone if you need anything. We are happy to make suggestions or recommendations if required and our welcome brochure contains many helpful hints.

The lead guest in your party must be over 18 years of age. We allow up to 2 well behaved dogs per cabin - there is an additional charge of £10 per dog. Dogs must be under close control at all times - we are a working farm and injury to stock is not tolerated. Logs and charcoal burnt on site must be purchased from Langley glamping. It is a quiet and tranquil site - we expect all guests to behave in an appropriate and respectful manner at all times, especially towards other guests and fishermen.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Joanne (the owner) a message.

If Joanne (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
