2 bedroomed apartment in detached Villa with superb private 9m x 4m swimming pool. Sleeps up to 5. One double bedroom. 2nd Bedroom either as two singles or double bed. Foldaway bed and or Cot available upon request.

Beautifully located in tranquil part of picturesque village. 10 miles from Collioure/Argeles coast, amidst foothills of Pyrenees. 5 minutes walk into Laroque centre for fresh bread, mini market, bars and restaurants.

This detached property was purpose built as two apts. The holiday rental apartment is the 1st floor apartment of the detached villa. Please note the ground floor is only used by the owners when they are there, so is empty while guests enjoy their holidays !! SO EXCLUSIVE USE OF BOTH THE VILLA & THE SWIMMING POOL.

Corner sited house, built on generous plot, with large mature private gardens all round. Gated drive for guests to park their cars.

Superb 160m2 poolside terrace, to enjoy the pool, with canopy shaded area for dining or simply relaxing out of the heat of the day.

Large BBQ, (charcoal or wood). Swimming Pool 9m x 4m - fully tiled complete with Roman steps to the shallow end, a deep end in excess of 6ft & a relaxing flowing water feature. Palm tree, surrounding greenery & colourful plants. Sun loungers for that all important sunbathing. Totally enclosed secure & private.

In more detail, the apt comprises:- Ground floor entrance. Hall. Stairs to 1st floor. Separate entrance. Hallway.

Master Double Bedroom with king sized bed & fitted wardrobes. 2nd double bedroom with two single beds (can be pushed together as a double). Cot available, upon request for our little guests.

Fully Fitted dining kitchen with dishwasher and washing machine. All utilities. Table/chairs for 4. and glorious Mount Canigou view.

Bathroom with bath & separate walk in shower. WC.

Additional separate WC & washhandbasin

Lounge with two large leather settees, DVD/CD/Hifi system - TV with most Uk channels - not sport.

The beauty of the lounge is the Sliding patio doors onto the roof terrace - which has the best restaurant view !!! - overlooking the pool & terrace, surrounded by the mountains.

This roof terrace sits on top of the garage, geraniums & railings at both ends, so totally safe for even the youngest. It measures approx 5m x 3m, with table & chairs to seat 6 for outside dining. In addition there are 2 sun loungers here - great for out of season relaxation - spring or autumn. There is a separate staircase straight to the pool & terrace area, (with a small security gate at the top).

EXCLUSIVE USE OF VILLA APARTMENT AND 9 metres x 4 metres FULLY TILED SWIMMING POOL.

For walkers. Laroque is a dream. You can walk through the vineyards, approx 600m from the house. Walk into the village & up to the "Tour" on top of the old village centre. Stunning walk up the hills behind us towards the Spanish border, with panoramic views of the area & coastline

The village has an abundance of restaurants including Michelin recommended and on the other end of the scale a very tasty Pizza take away - that has outside dinning in the summer

Thanks for your review. As you know we visited immediately after you. We did email response whilst at the appt. I was surprised you did not respond at the time. Perhaps it went into your spam or similar The fridge we found to be working perfectly OK. The temperature thermometer had been turned down to low, don;t know by who, but simply altered that. We had been almost fully booked from Easter to Oct. No one else had problems with the fridge & it seemed to be functioning perfectly well whilst there, and even since. "Shabby & tired looking". everyone has an opinion. Again no one else described as that. It might not be "hip trendy modern", but we believe to be comfortable, homely, traditional & clean. And of course you had sight of all the photos prior to booking. Indeed we rent a lot throughout the world, sometimes we go ultra modern, sometimes more traditional. The toilet issue, had not been reported to us, to be fair. A 10 minute visit from the plumber, fixed. We strive to have happy guests, by supplying a nice clean tidy property, inc a great pool area & having owned & rented for over 20 years have had numerous guests return numerous times. One couple 7 years on the trot, another couple 6 times, numerous ones 2/3 times, which we appreciate. That said, cleanliness in an expected feature & our cleaners have been informed of your observations & check lists put in place to ensure all is spic & span for guests. thankyou

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

If Martin (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
