Forge Cottage is found at Ta Mill, a secluded rural hideaway nestling in a peaceful hollow of 45 acres on the fringes of Bodmin Moor. This Olde Worlde cottage offers 2 doubles plus a third triple room leading off one of the doubles. Spacious lounge with beamed ceiling and wood burner makes this a cosy place to relax and chill out with friends or family. Surrounded by rolling countryside, it is an idyllic place in which to relax and unwind. This tranquil setting offers an escape from the pressures of everyday life in a quiet ambiance where nature thrives. Magnificent birds of prey can be seen swooping down the valley and nesting swallows are spotted in every corner. Ewes and lambs gambol in the surrounding fields and you can get close to new born lambs in Spring. A babbling brook meanders through the grounds, past the peaceful duck pond and into the pretty copse. Delight at the discovery of 2 wildlife ponds as you wander along the peaceful nature trail.

Forge cottage offers three bedrooms- two doubles plus a bedroom with 3 singles leading off the second double bedroom. Beds are made up for your arrival. There is a bathroom with a shower over bath downstairs and a separate wc upstairs. Wonderfully comfortable open beamed lounge with log burner and spacious dining area in fully fitted tiled kitchen make this an attractive and homely cottage which is very popular with our guests. Enjoy the secluded garden and patio area - excellent for a summer barbecue. Ta Mill is set in a peaceful hollow of 45 acres. A babbling brook meanders through the grounds, past the wildlife pond and continues along the picturesque nature trail, which is a DEFRA assigned access, recognised for its archaeological interest and unique setting. This nature trail leads you through a beautiful valley of dramatic stone outcrops and blossoming gorse. In the Spring, the bright yellow gorse and white blossom of the blackthorn contrast with the stunning grey slate rocks. Later in early Summer the hillside is adorned with purple foxgloves. Indulge your imagination as you absorb the natural beauty and unique tranquility whilst you wander along this unspoilt haven for nature where you can glimpse magnificent birds of prey, flocks of lapwing and much more. After nearly half a mile of wending stream you will be delighted at the discovery of another wildlife pond, playing host to a wealth of pondlife, including dragonflies, striking turquoise damselflies and swallows as they dip and dive across the shimmering water. Other facilities include a pitch 'n' putt course set in an acre of meadowland and games room with gym equipment.At Ta Mill, you can hire the site Hot Tub. The Vita Hot Tub is situated in a private setting, unusually surrounded by the original stone walling of the waterwheel pit. Climb down into the inviting Hot Tub which is sat on a steel grid above the fantastic vertical walls where a working waterwheel once belonged. Be amazed at the beautiful example of local craftmenship from ages past which is lit up below you or look above at the changing scenes as clouds drift by or marvel at the sky at night. The Swim Spa has a never ending current which you can swim against and also massage chairs for relaxing- terms and conditions apply (sorry, no children under 12 years of age in Hot tub but children who can swim are welcome to use Swim spa when accompanied by adults).

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.
