Welcome to "Le gîte du Muscle"

The “Perigord Noir” Enjoy the most beautiful area of France

A Pair of Charming Luxury Dordogne stone cottages for rent. Built in 1795 and fully renovated in 2014 with taste and care.

In the main house there is:

• An air conditioned Double bedroom (Kingsize),

• An en-suite bathroom with shower and WC

• Large Living Room and dining room with cathedral fireplace

• Top spec designer kitchen

• Bathroom with shower and WC for swimming pool

A few meters away in the second house you will find:

• An air conditioned Twin bedroom (2 single beds)

• Separate bathroom with full bath and WC

• Snug/TV room (TV), cathedral fireplace with convertible high quality sofa bed (sleeps 2)

Off the main house there is a south facing full sized terrace with a fully automatic sunshade which takes full advantage of the views over Audrix, its valley and forests.

In the 1 Acre garden there is:

• A heated swimming pool with a paved sunbathing area and furniture.

• A shaded lawn area

• An original full sized stone bread oven (not yet working as we have a bit more work to do to restore the oven floor)

House rules

We don't suggest that this property is for couples with young children. The main bedroom is in one house and the other beds are in the second house. Despite there only being 10 metres between the 2 houses we want our guests to experience a holiday where they don't have to manage young children being away from their parents. On the other hand for adolescents we have found that they LOVE this! Being close but of of view makes a holiday a great holiday for them!

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Peter (the owner) a message.

If Peter (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
