Set on terraced hillside, wonderfully quiet yet 15 minutes from a busy village. Sympathetically restored with chestnut beams, meadows and both sunny and shady terraces giving lovely views of wooded hills. Excellent walking, river swimming, canoeing and biking. Enjoy nature, history, restaurants and markets, plus Arles, Nimes, Avignon, Pont du Gard, Camargue etc. Especially beautiful in early summer and autumn.
The house has good-sized and characterful rooms with exposed beams, antique furniture, and modern beds. The kitchen is modern and highly functional, with lots of space, many utensils, and all required appliances. Even so, the kitchen and the adjoining dining area are relaxed, traditional farmhouse spaces. There are two terraces. One, immediately adjoining the dining area, is shaded by wisteria and great for breakfast and lunch. A larger, lower terrace has teak furniture and is great for barbecues. The four bedrooms are all lovely, the recently completely refurbished ground floor bedroom has good accesibility and a modern en-suite bathroom with walk-in shower.
Linen is available at £8.00 per person or else you can take your own. Everything else is included, there are no additional costs, though you can choose to pay €40 to have the house cleaned for you on your departure.
Le Vieux Mas is on the edge of the Cevennes National Park, a recently designated UNESCO World Heritage Site.
