Completed in 2016 Breckon is a high quality one bed apartment with open plan fully fitted kitchen/dining/ living room. The bedroom is a double (4ft 6 inches, 138cm wide) and there is a shower room with under floor heating. This well appointed apartment is situated in the historical conservation area in the centre of Lerwick - a stone's throw from Commercial Street which is the main shopping area of the town with numerous cafes, bars and restaurants and is only 100m from the busy picturesque harbour and esplanade. This particular apartment benefits from a small secluded outdoor sitting area with it's own private gate and entrance. Access is via two flights of external steps therefore perhaps not suitable for guests with mobility problems. 27 STEPS FROM STREET LEVEL.

PLEASE NOTE - this apartment has partially coombed ceilings and therefore may not be suitable for guests taller than 6 feet plus - especially most notably in the kitchen area.

Being located in the historic town centre the flats do not have designated parking. However, there is free public parking close by from as close as a few metres away (overnight) on the main street to up to 200 metres away for free public parking areas. There is also pay and display parking available on Victoria Pier which approximately 100 metres away (approx. £4.00 for 24 hours).

The apartment is an ideal base from which you can experience all that Shetland has to offer; a car is not always necessary as there are regular bus services to most areas. Nearby, within walking distance, is the museum, town hall, Fort Charlotte, cinema, leisure centre and swimming pool, Clickimin Broch, 9 hole pitch and putt golf course, seabird boat tours and a beautiful costal walk around Lerwick during which you may see local birdlife, seals and the occasional porpoise.

Further afield the world famous Shetland ponies are a popular sight along with the puffins at Sumburgh Lighthouse, the croft house museum, Jarlshoff and Scatness archaeological digs. There are numerous beautiful beaches scattered around Shetland's stunning coastline, the most popular and spectacular of which is St. Ninians located south of Lerwick.

The local Tourist Office is 25m away from the apartment and the friendly staff will be delighted to help you organise an itinerary to suit your interests should that be bird watching, sealife, wildlife, walking, fishing, cycling, knitting, music, golf, history, food etc.

Why can't I call Jennifer (the owner) before booking?

You can exchange contact details with the property owner/manager once your booking is confirmed and you’ve paid in full. Paying and communicating only through our platform allows us to ensure that your booking is covered by our Payment Protection policy.

If you have any questions before booking, you can send the property owner/manager a message via the contact form on their listing. Once you’ve booked, you can discuss the rental and make arrangements for your trip by logging into Manage my booking.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I pay the balance of my holiday?

You can pay the remaining balance of your holiday at any point. Simply go to Manage my holiday booking and click Pay now.

How can I retract my booking request?

You’ll need to contact Jennifer (the owner) to do this. Send them a message in Manage your holiday booking or through the contact form on this page.

How do I cancel my booking?

Go to Manage your holiday booking to cancel your booking. Here you can view your cancellation policy to see if you’ll be refunded.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Jennifer (the owner) a message.

If Jennifer (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
