From the owner

4 miles from heart of downtown Lexington on 250 acres. This cabin has a romantic origin. It is actually comprised of three small cabins, the center one having been found in a pile of logs on 'the back forty'. Brought to its current location, two additional small cabins were found to add to it. It has been modernized to assure your stay will be everything you dream. The full length front sitting porch, with 2 rocking chairs, will remind you of times past as you sit listening to birds chattering and watching the abundant wildlife. The back deck is perfect for grilling on the gas BBQ grill or to relax, taking in another perspective. Adirondack chairs & a picnic table with umbrella are in the side and back yards.

The very comfortable queen beds, both in the downstairs main bedroom and in the upstairs sleeping loft, will provide you with your best night's sleep.

This cabin is child suitable. It is also dog friendly depending on size, breed and prior approval. Our guests must agree to our dog policy prior to arriving.

Our largest, fully modern kitchen, has been completely remodeled with a poured-in-place concrete countertop. The kitchen is equipped with refrigerator, stove, microwave, coffee maker, dishes, pots, pans, jams, spices, starter coffee, hot cocoa & teas. All you will need are the steaks for the grill.

The vista from the back deck and yard is over one of our four hay fields. If you are lucky you will see the bi-annual hay harvest with its amazing large round bales. Come experience a 'slice of Shenandoah magic'!

We are a self catering retreat property with contactless check-in. Unless someone is present when you pick up the info packet with driving directions and cabin key. it is unlikely you will meet us, unless of course you wish to do so. We live on these 250 acres. The hayfields are harvested 2-3x per year, grass mowed during the season… we value your privacy. We are a phone call away.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Heartstone (the owner) a message.

If Heartstone (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
