From the owner

Owl Cottage is one of 6 cottages available at Maesydderwen Holiday Cottages and has its own private fenced garden with raised patio area and hot tub. There are lake views from the garden and patio. The cottage is set in 42 acres of farmland and woodland making it a peaceful getaway for you and your partner or with the family. Dogs are welcome and are well catered for on site with lots of outdoor space and walks from the door. Streams with tumbling waterfalls run through the site.

There is plenty for the whole family to explore, whatever the weather either at the many tourist attractions in the area or at Maesydderwen.

The cottage is situated on the less explored, western fringes of the Brecon Beacons National Park and offers an array of walks for all abilities, we have also included route details in the welcome pack for walks from the cottage door or trek along the Beacons Way which passes only 1 mile away. The cottage is also ideally located for fishing and cycling; the River Towy, famous for Sea Trout, is only 2 miles away. Brechfa Forest and Pembrey Country Park are only 30 minutes away in the car providing a network of cycle tracks for both experienced and novice cyclists, including family trails.

3 steps lead down from the patio to your own private lawn. The patio provides al fresco dining and your own private hot tub, a BBQ is available on request. Children under 5 are not allowed in the hot tub. The woodland and lake provide the perfect habitat for a wide range of birds including Red Kites, Woodpeckers, Heron, Siskins, Redstarts, Cuckoo, Nuthatches, Tree creepers, Little Grebe all only feet away from you.

The peace and quiet of this rural idyll complements a relaxing holiday and is available for families, couples, or can be booked with our other cottages for larger parties.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

If Angela (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
