Henllys Lodge is comfortable, relaxing, modern and individual. Renovated and furnished to a very high standard as an eco-friendly and allergy-friendly property. 5 star (Visit Wales graded) and Green Tourism Gold Graded. A 4-bedroomed detached house standing alone in a rural environment of Welsh hills in the Upper Twyi Valley in Carmarthenshire and bordering the Brecon Beacons National Park. Not just another little Welsh cottage; it's a special place! Short breaks (3 nights minimum) are available out of peak holiday seasons.

The property has three double bedrooms and one bunk-bed bedroom. Two of the double bedrooms have their own en-suite wetrooms with mosaic tiles and large rose head showers, WC and wash-handbasin, and there is a separate bathroom for the two remaining bedrooms and for those who prefer baths, with full sized bath with overhead rose head shower, wash-handbasin and WC. The open-plan downstairs area comprises an entrance lobby, large kitchen/diner with all modern amenities including energy efficient appliances: dishwasher, large fridge/freezer, range cooker (with 5 hotplates, grill and 2 ovens), microwave and all the cooking equipment and implements you will need, a WC, and living room with a separate television area (freeview channels available with Netflix and BBC iPlayer available and DVD player with selection of DVDs), CD player/radio, table football and a double-sided wood-burning stove in the middle of the room (logs supplied).

An annexe attached to the house has a washing machine and condenser dryer for guest use.

There is a garden with lawn and views to the hills beyond and around the house there are flower beds with native plants flowering at different times of the year. Fill the bird-feeder and look out for the many different birds, such as nuthatches, woodpeckers, finches, and more. At the bottom of the garden there is a large pond teeming with wildlife, including frogs, newts, fish, water lilies etc. Red kites and buzzards soar overhead. For children there is a double swing at the bottom of the garden and the lawn is extensive enough to enjoy ball games and run around. Outside the kitchen is a Welsh slate patio, which is a wonderful sun-trap, with garden furniture. A barbecue is also available for use. There is off-road parking for three cars and a locked shed which can accommodate bicycles. Bicycles can be hired locally. There are many walks locally for all abilities and many cycle routes including mountain biking routes. Fantastic scenery all around.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I cancel my booking?

Go to Manage your holiday booking to cancel your booking. Here you can view your cancellation policy to see if you’ll be refunded.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Lise (the owner) a message.

If Lise (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
