Set in the beautiful rural Dee Valley just 5 minutes drive from the market town of Llangollen, Dee Valley Cottages is your home from home. We are just a few minutes walk from the Llangollen Heritage steam line and the River Dee. Perfect for fishing, walking and cycling.

The cottage is suitable for 4 adults and there are no extras when booking. All power, linen, towels, + central heating is included. There is a satellite flat screen TV, surround sound DVD system, stereo and free wIfi to ensure you keep in touch while away. With full size cooker, dishwasher, fridge freezer and washer dryer, the kitchen is fully equipped to meet all your needs. The ground floor bathroom is designed as a wet room making it easily accessible for all guests. There is a decked sitting area outside the cottage with table, chairs and barbeque provided in the summer months. Views from here across the valley are stunning, as they are from the lovely garden which is shared with Wagtails cottage.

Watch the local wildlife, feed the wild birds, watch the sunrise, or simply read a book and revel in the peace and beauty of the views. For train enthusiasts the steam railway runs along the bottom of the adjoining field, and with Deeside Halt five minutes walk down the hill, stroll down to catch the train. Relax and enjoy the peaceful countryside or explore the many interesting places to visit and outdoor pursuits available in this area.

All major supermarkets now deliver to this area, if you wish, you can have your shopping delivered during your visit.

All stays of a week or more receive a welcome basket to enjoy with the tea and coffee which are already in the cottage.

Special occasions can be catered for please ask when booking if you require flowers, a bottle of bubbly, or some other special preparations made for when you arrive.

Well behaved pets are welcome.

Swallows cottage is suitable for guests with mobility problems.

The cottage has full central heating throughout, plus an open fireplace in which to have a real log fire.

The two bedrooms provide ample space for up to four adults. The fitted kitchen/dining room has everything you need, including an integrated electric oven and hob, a full size dishwasher, (we don't believe anyone should have to wash up on holiday) a washing machine, and a fridge. There's a microwave for those quick snacks. We provide all pots, pans, crockery, and bed linen.

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast, looking out over the rolling countryside down to the Llangollen Steam railway, or watching the sun rise at the end of the valley.

Relax in the lounge, with a real log fire roaring in the grate, toasting crumpets at breakfast, marshmallows at lunch, chestnuts at tea time and toes in between.

Further details outdoors

Enjoy a walk down to the river, watch the sheep,the trains or sit and observe a large variety of wild birds. There are numerous walks in the nearby area, explore infrequently used pathways, find absolutely breathtaking views in one of the UK's best kept secret areas.

For those who enjoy more sedate activities, take the Llangollen canal boat trip, travel down the valley on the steam trains, or wander round Chirk castle, Plas Nwydd, or Erdigg and their grounds.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Simon (the owner) a message.

If Simon (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
