From the owner

Netherby Hall, Longtown Cumbria is an outstanding grade 11* mansion house. It is steeped in history from Roman times through the reining era to modern day.

Centred around a 15th Century pele tower, the property has been developed over the centuries with later additions in the 18th and 19th Century. The Hall is built on the site of a Roman fort known as ” Castra Exploratorum ” and it is believed that some sections of the house have been built using some of the fort stones. The house stands in 36 acres of parklands with extensive lawns, a Victorian pleasure garden and a walled garden covering just over an acre.

Salutation is a self-catering apartment which is furnished to a very high standard and has a bedroom which is en-suite with a comfortable king size bed. All linen, dressing gowns and towels are provided. The bathroom has both a large walk in shower unit and a free-standing bath.

In the entrance hall to the apartment there is a shower room. This apartment provides magnificent views of The Netherby Estate parklands over towards the Solway and the hills of Scotland beyond.

This apartment is open plan featuring a seating area with a double sofa bed and also a 40 inch smart T.V.

The dining kitchen area provides a table with seating for 4 and a fully equipped kitchen area with, coffee machine, dishwasher, washer/dryer, fridge freezer and cooker with induction hob. All crockery and cutlery are provided.

In the entrance hall to the apartment there is a shower room.

As with all our apartments we are dog friendly. There will be a small surcharge of £25 for the duration of the stay, when booking please inform us of any requirements.

You will be made welcome by our staff on your arrival who will show you to your apartment and go over the necessary information you will need but apart form that we will leave you pretty much alone to get on and enjoy your stay. The main house is occupied weekly by working staff and at weekends there is someone not far away to contact should you need to. All details are available in your welcome pack.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

If Netherby (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
