As you drive up to Casa Afortunada the colors of the walled estate with its handcrafted wooden gates welcome you to the start of a fantastic vacation. Welcome. Mi Casa es Su Casa, my home is your home. Entering the grounds, you will find lush palm trees, mango trees and pumeria trees of white, yellow and pinks. A Spanish tiled fountain with its old world charm bids you closer to the Villa. Your shoulders are already starting to relax. Once inside this wonderful Hacienda, you can't help but be amazed by the all large windows and glass doors bringing the impressive views of the Sea of Cortez inside. The owners have gone to great lengths keeping the vibe of the Villa as relaxing and comfortable as possible. The great room welcomes you with its overstuffed leather sofas, and the dining area features a massive hand crafted wooden dining room table. The large gourmet kitchen boasts views of both the pool/jacuzzi and the Sea of Cortez. The Master Suite is located at one end of the Villa offering luxury and privacy. The master bath with it's stunning use of Spanish tile and double sinks on one side of the Suite. A large sliding door leading out to the enormous deck is on the other side. The two guest rooms are located at the other end of the Villa, each with its own private bath. Both guest bathrooms has it's own dramatic Spanish tile features. The beautiful Spanish tiled walls and floors in the showers - each unique. Soft cotton absorbent towels waiting to be grabbed. All bedrooms in the Villa have picturesque Sea of Cortez views, and large glass doors leading ouside to the beach front deck. The Casa also includes a Casita, on the pool side. The Guest Villa is air conditioned, providing its own fully equipped kitchen, dining room table, sitting area with TV and DVD player (bring some favorites from home) full bathroom with Spanish tile. The Guest Villa offers plenty of privacy for the guests, yet only steps away from the main Villa. For the early birds, waking up and seeing the sunrise coming up out of the Sea from your bed, with all the magical colors is quite an experience. For those of you who prefer to sleep in, you'll have to settle hearing about them. Welcome to Casa Afortunada, what a great way to start the day. This beautiful beach front Villa rests within walking distance to everything within the quaint town of Los Barriles. You can stroll up the street for a latte or espresso and sit outside the cafe chatting with some of the locals. The little organic vegetable market is just steps from the cafe. Los Barriles is known for it's deep sea sport fishing, the Bisbee East Cape Tournament is held this year from August 2 - August 6, 2016. If it's fishing you're interested in, you can be picked up right in front of the Villa at sunrise. If you like kite boarding, we have The Lord of the Wind, January 13 - January 17, 2017 with Professional Contestants entering in Kite Hydrofoil, Slalom Racing, Freestyle and Big Air. If you wish to kite board, how about launching from in front of the Villa. There are many options for lessons with IKO certificate instructors. Our management team can order a masseuse to come to the Villa for your comfort and privacy. No sense in leaving the chill of your own domain, especially after a big day on the water. Paddle boarding, snorkeling and kayaking are always fun and a must ! We will be happy to assist you in selecting a rental company, just let us know. For those less venturous, or just wanting relaxation you can always just lay back on one of the deck chairs and chill, watching all the sea life dolphins, fish, turtles, manta rays, and whales. Or how about just taking a good old fashion walk on the beach ? You can walk for miles in either direction all on white sand. Los Barriles offers KTM off road motorcycle trips, tailor made to fit your time and budget. Horseback riding, mountain bikes, ATM rentals all available. Going back into the arroyos to the waterfalls is always a fun day trip. Or taking the ATV's or side by side up to Punta Pescadero for swimming and snorkeling, stop by the hotel for a cold one. In the winter months we have a local Farmers Market every Saturday morning where you can buy organic vegetables, local honey, flowers and locally made goods. Casa Afortunada is within walking distance to all the great restaurants, and shopping around town. If you go fishing, bring your fresh catch to any of the local restaurants and they'll prepare it for you and your guests. Feel like a great steak ? How about a delicious rib eye with Jack Daniels, shallot creme sauce ? Sushi you're wanting ? want no more - we have a fantastic restaurant serving some of the best. Feel like kicking it with some locals - staying low key - why not try a stuffed potato ? Sit outside under the stars and BYOB. It's a local favorite .
