Welcome to Villa Penelope: a cliff-side hideaway perched over the sparkling Ionian Sea in Kefalonia. With lush mountains all around, and the expansive Ketalonia coastline ahead, this is an ideal location for a romantic getaway or trip with loved ones. Take a dip in the pristine and private pool, then sip a drink on the sunny veranda while dinner cooks on the BBQ grill.
Located on a secluded enclave of 4 acres, both villas on the property can be rented together for larger groups of up to 8 guests. We take pride in our family-owned villas, which have been meticulously maintained and cared for. We live close by and are on-hand for any assistance...or dinner recommendations.
Picturesque Natural Beauty
Take your place on the sea-view hillside, a peaceful and private location to unwind. Close your eyes, feel the warmth of the sun on your skin and breathe in the sea air.
Then explore the indigenous terrain of the Grecian island. Rent a jeep to see the rugged black fir forests and the wild horses that call these mountains home. Or rent a boat or kayak to see the gleaming sea caves, close-by Lefka Beach located just under your cliff-side villa, or the famous golden sands of Lourdas Beach, where you can rent a boat, canoe, or jet ski and get out on the water with your family. Drive just two miles and swim in the sparkling waters of Koroni Beach.
Under the Roof
In the bright master bedroom, you can stretch out in the double bed, step out onto your private balcony, or enjoy a water massage in the decadent shower in the en-suite bathroom. Two more guests are spoiled with their own private balcony in the 2nd bedroom and 2 comfortable twin-size beds. A 2nd full bathroom features a jetted tub.
Open the French doors to let the sea breeze into the ornate living room while you lounge on the couch. The rustic kitchen has all cooking essentials and a dark wood table for an intimate dinner. Enjoy all the comforts of home, including original artwork created by our close friend and a washing machine for keeping clothes clean.
On the Island
The Island of Kefalonia is famous for its verdant mountain landscape, which abuts the crystal-blue sea. Impressive limestone cliffs and caves carve out the coastline and lead to magazine-cover beaches. All seasons are spectacular here, but our favorite time of the year on the island is May or September, when the ocean breezes are calm and the temperature is just right. And in August, a gorgeous full blue moon glows spectacularly in the night sky.
From the villa, drive 10 minutes to the Village of Lourdas, where you can savor delicious local fare and explore the colorful culture. Travel a little further to Argostoli, the energetic capitol 15-miles away, or take a leisurely winery tour. Come find your slice of heaven by the sea!
Our Service
Taking good care of our guests is our primary goal, and we personally manage our two villas to an exceptional standard.
We always welcome our guests at the airport and will provide any recommendations or assistance you need to be completely comfortable here. Early check-ins and late check-outs are available upon request.
When you arrive you will find a welcome pack with pantry items like a bottle of local wine, fresh seasonal fruits, milk, coffee, sugar, bread, local cheeses, refreshments, beers and more, plus amenities like soaps, shower gel, shampoo, body lotion, bath salts, and a sewing kit.
Villa Penelope can accommodate up to 4 adults and a baby up to 2 years old in a baby cot.
The spacious private pool area features umbrellas and wooden deck chairs for sunbathing and a shower. The pool itself (4 x 7 m and max depth 1.70 m) is ecological and water overflowing.
All rooms feature air conditioning and luxury furnishings. Complimentary Wi-Fi is also provided.
