Set on the sunny Kintyre peninsula in Argyll, which boasts huge skies and dramatic sunsets, this delightful Victorian stone built villa is just steps from glorious long stretches of sandy beach. The house is perfect for golfers and for exploring the many Scottish islands which surround this magical part of Argyll with ferries to Islay, Jura, Arran, Colonsay, Gigha all nearby. Newly renovated, this semi detached holiday home is set within a large private garden with sweeping lawns. Stylishly furnished and offering a fresh modern feel, the house retains its original charm. The large sitting room enjoys sea views and has an open fireplace making it a wonderfully relaxing place for all seasons. The spacious open plan kitchen / dining room is kept warm by underfloor heating and offers plenty of space for everyone to gather and enjoy meals. Upstairs the four comfortably furnished bedrooms all have views out to sea or over the hills. Another twin bedroom is on the ground floor with views out to sea. The garden is enclosed by a lovely old stone wall. There is a separate wildflower garden at the rear of the property with views of rolling hills to the South.

Many thanks for your very positive review of Rothmar East. We are very lucky to be situated so close to two world renowned golf courses with stunning views over the beach and out to sea. The house has become a firm favourite with many golf groups and also family groups ( both from Scotland and the rest of the world ) and many come back each year and I hope you will too. Great pubs and hotels are not always so easy to find in rural Scotland so we are doubly blessed to have the best hotel in the region and the best gastropub in the region within 2 minutes walk from our door.

Many thanks for your review. Very glad you enjoyed your stay, generally It can be chilly in Scotland in December but we will make sure that the house is warmed a little earlier in future. We will also place an inventory of equipment in the kitchen.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Gordon (the owner) a message.

If Gordon (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
