Our Akha village enjoys beautiful foggy mornings all year long. We have a relatively cool climate throughout the day. We are home to the Akha people, one of the most unique hilltribes in Southeast Asia with fascinating, well-preserved cultures and an untouched natural setting.

Hloyo (pronounced Law Yo) Village is situated on the Doi Mae Salong hills close to the Myanmar border. If driving from Chiang Rai or Chiang Mai we are before Mae Salong town centre.

Hloyo comes to life in the evenings when locals gather for music, food, and bonding. Characterized by their hospitable nature, Hloyo gatherings are led by indigenous instruments played by locals who dress up in decorative, traditional Akha costumes. During your stay, you may get to learn to make one of the costumes or maybe you might prefer to learn basket weaving. This community relies on its surroundings for food and basic livelihood. Join villagers on their favorite trail as they forage the freshest herbs and vegetables. Stop by the stream for a fresh catch.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Pragasit (the owner) a message.

If Pragasit (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
