This listing is for BOTH the Main Estate AND the Music Promoter Guest House at the Malibu Retreat. COMBO of both of our unique spaces which are the Malibu Retreat - it’s like having your own private resort. The Malibu Retreat is perfect for large families, group gatherings, retreats, weddings, reunions & productions too! The mountains & fresh air will heal your soul while the pool & jacuzzi wash away your stresses.

The Main House is 4000 sq ft & sleeps 15 people comfortably in its 4 beautiful bedrooms, while the GH sleeps another 9- giving up to 24 people over 5000 sq ft of indoor living space, as well as 3 acres of outdoors to roam, romp, play and bond. THIS listing is for the family that wants to have it ALL, be near it ALL while enjoying exclusive luxurious privacy that’s hard to find so close to a major city. For over 20 years it’s been our slice of heaven.

The Malibu Retreat is an award-winning 3 acre unique property with 2 separate structures. Admirably located right between Calabasas & Malibu in the exclusive neighborhood of Monte Nido, our property offers a Bohemian Chic space with many spots to explore and hang out. The property backs up to 10,000 acres of the Santa Monica Mountain Range parkland. With stunning mountain views from our natural rock, dark bottom heated pool and jacuzzi, or outdoor infinity Yoga deck, guests can enjoy tranquility while being only 5 miles from Malibu and 5 miles from Calabasas. Walk to many hiking trails, parks and even one of LA's top restaurants is at the bottom of our driveway - The Saddle Peak Lodge.

The Main Estate is a Mediterranean style main house with 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 2 balconies, 3 fireplaces, conversation pit, gourmet kitchen, office, tiled outdoor living room with fountains, pool, jacuzzi & Weber stainless steel BBQ.

The gourmet kitchen is top quality customized with plenty of hand crafted limestone countertops, Viking double oven 6 burner range & griddle, food warmer & Sub-zero refrigerator. It opens to the dining room & outdoors to the mountains. The house also have several living rooms, a home office, an old school conversation pit with fireplace, a meditation room, and a 900 sq foot outdoor Zen Yoga Deck as well!

Upstairs has 3 bedrooms which include:

-the extra large Shabby Chic Master Bedroom has a private balcony, breathtaking views, private ensuite bathroom w/ tumbled Marble Ann Sax tiles, multi-jet steam shower, Toto bidet, Kohler faucets, double sinks, fireplace, brand new organic luxury king mattress, a mini frig & smart TV

-the second upstairs bedroom is called the Anthropology Family Suite. This colorful bedroom has 2 Queen beds downstairs & 2 twin bunk beds up in its loft. It sleeps 8 easily & shares both a balcony & bathroom with the Santana Suite. Also with a smart tv, ceiling fan & bureau

-third upstairs bedroom is the Santana Suite, aptly names for 1 of the guitars which adjoins its walls. This cool room has a comfortable king bed & shares it’s balcony & bathroom with the Anthropology Suite. Also has a burea, writing desk, ceiling fan & smart tv.

Downstairs is home to the 4th bedroom (Hawaiian Room) which has its own private patio, a new Queen bed, & a full bathroom- near the office / living room & meditation room.

The Music Promoter Guest House consists of 2 small open loft bedrooms- one side with a yummy queen bed with down comforter and the other w/ 2 new tufted twin beds, each w/ a twin trundle (to sleep 6 people upstairs). Downstairs you'll enjoy a very large living space w/ a sectional couch, Phillip Stark swivel chairs & 2 more twin day daybeds, 1 w/ a trundle. 2 Smart TVs, Harmon & Kardon stereo equipped with Bluetooth, as well as our library of books & games!

The downstairs area of the Guest House is separated by Zen Soji screens. One side has a sitting area decorated with some of our favorite artists Gold & Platinum Records & autographed posters, while the other side is a dining areas with a retro mini kitchenette with the basics (refrigerator & freezer, microwave, toaster oven and coffee maker). Outside, we have a BBQ grill with a burner, and an additional sink, along w/ all kitchen utensils & cooking equipment.

Why can't I call Michele (the owner) before booking?

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Michele (the owner) a message.

If Michele (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
