Getting around
Whitby railway station is in the centre of town and is served by Northern Trains and the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. The former runs up to Middlesborough on the Esk Valley railway line and the latter runs on the same line but branches off at Goathland to take you to its current destination of Pickering. In addition to rail transport there are regular buses up the coast and in land taking you to Scarborough, Robin Hoods Bay and York/Leeds. The bus station is outside of the railway station.
