How to get there
If you are coming from Athens you need to catch the ferry from Rafina. From Athens airport there are buses to Rafina every hour. Alternatively a taxi from the airport costs about €30 and gets you there well under 30 minutes. Similarly, there are buses from Athens centre and taxis from the centre will take about 45 minutes to get to Rafina. Ferries to Andros tend to leave in the morning between 7 and 8am and in the evening 5:30 - 7:30pm. For ferry time tables and reservations go to PALEOLOGOS TRAVEL website.

Getting around
There are presently no supermarkets or grocery stores at Stenies You need to get your provisions in nearby Nimborio or at Hora. The nearest restaurants are about 20 minutes walk from Karmi. I strongly recommend having your own transport. If you want to do justice to visiting Andros you need to wander around and discover places. Many visitors prefer to hire mopeds. Either way, make sure you book your transport early as most rental places run out particularly in peak season. I can recommend car-hire locals as well as taxis which are numerous and relatively inexpensive.
