How to get there

From Annecy follow the signs to Thônes. Once at Thônes continue along the D909 Route d'Annecy going through the roundabouts towards La Clusaz, St Jean-de-Sixt and Le Grand Bornand. Once you arrive in the village of St Jean-de-Sixt go straight ahead at the roundabout towards La Clusaz (Le Grand Bornand is to the left here). About 500m further on, just after a petrol station, turn left up a road marked to Danay, Corengy and Aire de Picnique. At the first intersection go straight ahead towards Mont Durand and Les Granges rather than taking the left towards the Aire de Picnique. There is a sign on the rocks there for the Gite La Tanière which is our place. The house is another 300m or so further on, just after crossing a little bridge. Turn left and park in one the carparks there. To access the house go all the way to the top of the stairs. The self contained, separate entry Gite is on the bottom floor. The house entry is at the top.

From Geneva, take the signs to France and after the border crossing take the A40. Get onto it heading east towards Chamonix. Follow signs to Chamonix on the toll road until you get to exit 16 at Bonneville. It is marked to La Clusaz and Le Grand Bornand. Go right after the toll booth and after going straight through the first roundabout, take the second one left again marked to the two ski resorts and Petit Bornand. Take the D12 up the windy gorge (take care at the bottom) until it T-junctions at its end. Turn right towards La Clusaz and St Jean-de-Sixt. Once in St Jean-de-Sixt go left at the roundabout towards La Clusaz. 500m or so later turn left just after the petrol station on the road marked to Danay, Corengy and Aire de Picnique. Follow instructions above from here to the house.
