BY CAR: Toll motorway A-6. In the same way, it is possible to connect directly with Madrid from Segovia through the AP-61 that runs along 27.8 km to join the A-6 at the height of the Segovian town of San Rafael. Once in Segovia, take the national road 601 towards Valladolid / Turégano / Escalona del prado. BY BUS: La Sepulvedana offers routes to Madrid, Ávila and Salamanca, as well as many of the towns and places of interest in the province of Segovia. The bus from Madrid to Segovia leaves the Príncipe Pío station in the southwest of the capital and the journey takes an hour and a quarter. Once in Segovia take another bus to Escalona del Prado. TRAIN: The national rail system (RENFE) offers numerous transport options between Segovia and Madrid, as well as links with the rest of the country and outside of it. Recently, work has been completed on the high-speed train line, the AVE, between Madrid and Segovia. Trains arrive at the Segovia-Guiomar station, located four kilometers from the city center. Numerous trains leave every day from and to Chamartín station in the center of Madrid and the trip takes approximately 25 minutes. From the same station, bus services and taxis bring you to the center of Segovia and the university in less than five minutes. It is always advisable to compare the schedules and prices of trains and buses for any trip you are planning. They usually cost approximately the same, but certain routes can be much shorter, depending on the route. Also, there is a regional train from Segovia to the Atocha station in Madrid every day at 05:55 and then every two hours between 06:55 and 20:55. The trains from Atocha to Segovia start at 06:02 and then every two hours from 08:01 to 20:01. The trip lasts two hours. Once in Segovia take another bus to Escalona del Prado. PLANE: The closest international airport to the city of Segovia is the Barajas International Airport in Madrid. From Barajas to Segovia by bus from the airport, access the metro line 8 in the direction of Nuevos Ministerios. Then, in Nuevos Ministerios, transfer to line 10 towards Puerta del Sur and exit at Príncipe Pío station. The bus station is 500 meters on foot along Paseo de la Florida. The station is on the right side of the Hotel Florida Norte and to buy the tickets you have to go down some stairs. It is not very well indicated and you should bear in mind that the green buses you see outside the hotel's metro stop are not what you are looking for. On the AVE high-speed train there are several trains that leave every day from and to Chamartín station in Madrid (see section By train). From the airport, take subway line 8 to Nuevos Ministerios and exit at Nuevos Ministerios stop. Then, transfer to line 10 in the direction of Hospital Infanta Sofía and get off at Chamartín, where you can buy the tickets and ride the AVE towards Segovia. Once in Segovia take another bus to Escalona del Prado.
