How to get there
The quickest and recommended way to get to Portnalong is to drive as it is easier to get around with a car when you get there. From Glasgow the journey takes just over 5 hours, but a stopover in Fort William to stretch the legs is always welcome. Buses run 3 times a day from Inverness or Glasgow to Portree and a train runs from Inverness to Kyle of Lochalsh on the mainland. Once over the Skye Bridge go right on the A87 in the direction of Broadford. Just after Sconser, take a left turn at Sligachan on to the A863. After about 7 miles, take the left turn on to the B8009 to the Minginish Peninsula & Tattie Bogle Trail. Follow the road through Carbost and head up the hill just after the Talisker Distillery towards Portnalong. After about 3 miles, there is a junction, take the left road to Fiscavaig. Glendale is the first house on the right immediately after this junction - it is easily identified by the semi circular drive.
