You really need a car to get to Chapel House although I have had guests that got here by cab from Matlock, only 7 miles away where there's a full range of shops and several taxi services. The White Peak is blessed with three amazing disused railway lines that can be a great way to see some truly gorgeous scenery. The breathtaking Cheedale and river Wye can be enjoyed from the Monsal Trail for example. There are several places to hire bikes (and buggies to tow the little ones) for a really fun day out.
