It takes just a few hours drive to reach Kvarner from European countries by car, as the region has good connections to all European capitals.

Car and road assistance - 1987

- the speed limit in urban areas is 40-50 km/h
- maximum speed limits outside urban areas are indicated by traffic signs

Toll is charged for the use of the Krk Bridge, the U?ka Tunnel and the Rijeka-Zagreb motorway. Headlights must be used at all times during winter time, i.e. outside the Daylight Saving Time period.
