The cheapest and quickest way is via the Dover-Calais Ferry: It's almost all motorway - just a 2½ hours drive after a 75-minute crossing.
The nearest is via the Portsmouth-Le Havre or Caen Ferry: Just a 1 hour drive (but a longer, more expensive ferry crossing - approx. 6h).
Or Newhaven-Dieppe: A 1½ hour drive with a 4h crossing.
