How to get there
Fly from most UK airports to Faro - Easyjet, Ryanair, Jet2 and Thomson airlines offer competitive prices. Lagos is a 45-50 minute drive from Faro.
Take a taxi or shuttle bus or hire your own car - Luzcars or Lagorent are recommended but check the internet for other deals.
Alternatively take a taxi from the airport (approx 10 euros) to the train station and catch a train to Lagos (15-20 euros return) - this gives a great opportunity for leisurely sightseeing of the stunning views on route with Lagos being the final stop on the line - total journey time is one and a half hours.

Getting around
You do not actually need to hire a car as everything - beach (7 mins), marina (5 mins), Lagos town (15 mins) and supermarket (10 mins), is within walking distance, which is helpful as car hire in the summer months can be expensive. There is also a very good local bus service (10 mins to bus station) to access nearby resorts such as Luz, Alvor and Portimao. The train station (5 mins) also gives a cheap option to travel across the Algarve and the local taxis (reception can ring one for you) are relatively inexpensive compared to the UK!
