How to get there
The Dovecote Barns are easily accessible from all major motorways and we are just south of York city centre. It is advisable to have a car to allow you to fully explore the area, however, it is possible to use public transport by bus to get directly to the barns from York city centre or Selby town. Trains run from London Kings Cross station to both train stations and take less than 2 hours. The bus journey is approx 27 mins.
By car, you can reach the barns within 20 mins from York city centre.
Getting around
The barns are in a rural setting very close to York city centre with easy access to all motorways and train services. Public buses run from the barns to York city centre, but to explore the Yorkshire countryside fully, a car is advised. Situated just south of York city centre, the barns are very convenient for access to York, Leeds, Selby and the A1 and M1 motorways. The A64 brings you to the East coast over the North York Moors, which is a lovely day trip. Close to lots of Yorkshires finest estates and attractions, you are never short of something to do or somewhere to visit!
