Avoiding July & August car hire is relatively cheap & the main road (A22) is generally very good & quiet due to the 5 - 6 euro toll. The N125 is not as quick, the old main road, but is toll free.

If outside of these 2 weeks we tend to hire a car for the convenience of accessing the larger out of village supermarkets + it affords trips to Lagos, the beautifully unspoilt & very quiet western coast (waves like you wouldn't believe) & up into Monchique where Donkeys are still used on a daily basis & the pace of life is an echo to yesteryear.

Taxi / Mini Bus Hire is easy to organise with ex pat companies living & operating from Alvor, plus a host of Mercedes Government Taxis available 24/7 within a 3 minute walk adjacent the roundabout as you enter the village centre.

We will happily organise your Airport Transfers for you, with you paying the driver when in resort.

There are also coach transfers, but I've never used them due to the stop offs & extra time involved, but again I am told these are clean, reliable & relatively cheap.
