As an alternative to Inverness, Aberdeen airport is 105 km away and the journey to the Bothy will take around an hour and a half by road. When the weather is fine why not get off the main A96 trunk road at Huntly on your way North and travel at a more leisurely pace along the A920 through beautiful countryside via Dufftown (where you can stop at the Glenfiddich Distillery for a tour) and Rothes, home to the Glen Grant Distillery.

The journey from Inverness Airport will take around 40 minutes via the A96 through the lovely seaside town of Nairn where the Bandstand Bar at the Braeval Hotel makes a great lunch stop, especially for real ale lovers! Alternatively, bypass Nairn and travel past the Culloden Battlefield and Cawdor Castle, both of which are well worth a visit.
