If you are arriving with your own car on the ferry Norröna from Denmark to the port of Seydisfjordur, it will take you around 4,5 hours drive to reach Hamragil. You also could fly domestic from Reykjavik to Akureyri. Reg. renting a car, a normal passenger car is suitable for the summer (15% discount for our guests by Hertz), but you should rent a 4WD vehicle for the winter. If you need a real 4x4 vehicle, our guests get 15% discount by Isak ltd. When you have booked Hamragil we'll mail you further info for the way and the stay. NB!: in the winter the ring road can become closed for a while due to snow storms, and the 400 m long home run for Lodge Hamragil can become inaccessible because of snow, even for 4x4 vehicles.
