Calpe is well served by airports and major roads, Alicante airport is within a 60 minute drive heading north on the A7 motorway and the N332 road into the town. Valencia airport is within 90 minutes drive heading south on the A7 motorway. Easyjet, Ryanair and a number of other airlines fly into both these airports. If the scheduling of flight arrivals is an issue, you can fly in to Alicante, hire a car from that airport and arrange a return flight from Valencia returning the car there. There is usually a premium payment for returning the car to a different location, however, if the return flight extends your stay by half a day it may be worth it.
