How to get there
The nearest international airport to Carvoeiro is Faro, on the south coast of Portugal. The apartment is a 45 minute journey by car from the airport. Taxis can be arranged or car hire is easy by booking on line (recommended) or at the airport on arrival (expensive) . The Shuttle is the cheapest bus, it stops at other locations, other buses are also cheaper than taxi's. All can be booked online.
Directions to the apartment from Faro airport will be supplied upon booking, but Google maps is brilliant.

Getting around
There are taxi's for hire just off the plaza; during the summer there is a road train which travels from Carvoeiro to Ferragudo (medieval town) from the plaza and you can hop on and off. Fun for kids and adults. Bus services to surrounding villages and towns come through the village. Alternatively, to see the sights you can book tours. The nearest train stations are at Estombar and Silves where you can arrive from, or take a trip to, Lisbon or other major towns and cities for exploring.
