How to get there
Funchal Airport is served from numerous UK airports by British Airways, Easyjet, Jet2, TUI & TAP. There are also direct flights from Germany, Switzerland, France and Scandinavia plus of course mainland Portugal.
Connections to Funchal City by airport bus (every 1/2 hour approx 30 mins €5) or taxi (around 20 mins approx €30).
Car hire also available at airport or can be arranged in Funchal if shorter hire periods desired. We can provide directions on how to reach us by car if required.
Sao Pedro is one of the oldest areas of Funchal (celebrated its 500th anniversary in 2016) and you are just above the heart of the city within minutes walking distance to many beautiful gardens & museums (Quinta das Cruzes gardens and museum plus the Convent Santa Clara are just down the road and the Pico Fort is just around the corner)

Getting around
Funchal has a very good public bus service and you can use the number 15 to get up to the apartment from the seafront if you do not feel up to the walk. There is also an island wide bus service run by a seperate company which allows you to reach most points of interest around the island. You can also hire a taxi for the day if you do not want to rely on busses or wish to go more off the beaten track. Several companies also operate "jeep safari" type trips around the island and are great if you want to do a one way Levada walks, they drop you off at the start and are waiting for you at the end, usually with a guide escorting you on the walk.
