Wlen is a town approximately 50 miles south west of Wroclaw airport and 75 miles east of Dresden airport. Cars can be hired from Wroclaw airport (eg https://www.micar.pl/new/en/enform.php) and regular trains run from Wroclaw train station to Jelenia Gora and on to Wlen. The drive from the airport takes about 90 minutes.

Driving from England – Stena Lina operate services from Harwich to Hook of Holland. An overnight sailing at midnight arrives in Holland at 7.30am the next day. A good route is via Utrecht, Dortmund, Kassel, Leipzig then Dresden. Please allow approx. 10 hours of actual driving time plus rest stops. It is not recommended to arrive very late in the evening due to the remoteness of the cottage. An alternative is to go via the English Channel but please allow up to13 hours of driving from Calais.

Driving from Germany – the E40 from Dresden to Gorlitz will be the best place to cross the Polish border. Route from Gorlitz/Zgorzelec (German/Polish border)– follow road 30 to Luban then Gryfow Slaski,Lubomierz, Wojciechow and Wlen.
