Directions
From the South (e.g. Knock Airport; Shannon Airport)
Take the N17 (sign posted Sligo). Entering Charlestown, turn left then an immediate right onto Market Square - N17 (sign posted Sligo). Continue forward onto the N17 entering Curry, then Tobercurry. Continue on N17 (signposted Sligo) until you reach a roundabout. Take the 1st exit onto the N4 (sign posted Sligo). At the next roundabout take the 2nd exit (signposted Sligo). Continue ahead on the N4 toward Sligo.
At roundabout take the 1st exit (straight ahead) onto Sligo Inner Relief Road - N4 (signposted Town Centre). Continue straight ahead on the Sligo Inner Relief Road - N4 through all the traffic signals. Continue forward onto Bundoran Road- N15 (sign posted Lifford).
Continue on the N15 entering Drumcliffe. After Yeat’s Tavern, take first turn left (sign posted Maugherow). Turn right over the bridge entering Carney Village. Take first turn left. Drive for 4.5 km (passing entrances for Lissadell House). Just after Dunleavey’s Shop, turn left (sign posted Raghley). Drive for 2.5km, passing Ardtarmon Castle on your left and the Herdsman’s House will be the 5th house on your right.

From the East (e.g. Dublin Airport – 236.90km; 3h26m; GPS: 53.426604, -6.241604)
At the airport roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto the M1 motorway (sign posted Dublin). The M1 is a barrier free (e-flow) toll route. Leave the M1 at junction 1 (Junction with M50) then get into the left hand lanes to join the M50 motorway (sign posted Other Routes, Southbound).
Leave the M50 at Junction 7, then take right hand lanes onto the N4 (sign posted Sligo, Westport, Galway). The N4 becomes the M4. Continue on the M4 until it ends, becoming the N4 again. Go through Ballinalack and Rathowen. At roundabout, take 1st exit onto Ballymahon Road / Edgeworthstown Bypass– N55 (sign posted Sligo). At the next 3 roundabouts, take the 2nd exit - N4 (sign posted Sligo). Drive through Newtownforbes. Continue on N4 (Roosky/Dromod/Jamestown Bypass). Enter Carrick-on-Shannon. At each of the 3 roundabouts take 1st exit (N4 – signposted Sligo, Boyle). Pass Lough Arrow and drive through Castlebaldwin, continuing on the N4. At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit, then the 2nd exit again at the next roundabout. Continue on N4.
