Portsmouth to St Malo or Caen is around 4- 5 hrs hrs driving.
Eurotunnel is great if you don't like the ferry & very quick.

Budget airlines..Ryanair to Poitiers which is our nearest, around 30 mins drive from Menigoute. La Rochelle is about 1hr 30 mins drive with airlines Ryanair, Jet2 & Flybe. Limoges 2hrs drive away.
Car hire from the airports can be easily arranged when you book your flights. Hertz offer a discount with Ryanair.
