You drive from the airport towards Reykjavík. When you have reached Reykjavík, you should see signs on you right directing you to Mosfellsbær. You make a turn there and drive through Mosfellsbær. You could shop groceries there. There are two shops, Krónan with a yellow logo (you see it from the road) and Bónus with a pink pig in it´s logo. From Mosfellsbær you drive towards Borgarnes on road no. 1. You go through the tunnel under Hvalfjörður and take the first exit out of the roundabout. You will shortly drive past a factory site on your right and then up a small hill. The second road on you right on that hill is road no. 47, Hvalfjarðarvegur. You turn there and now it´s only few km to the cottages. You will see a sign with the name of the farm, Kalastaðir, on you right and there is also a large blue sign with a picture of a cottage and a key.
