By Car leave Junction 36 off the M6 and travel along the A591 towards Windermere, taking the A590 signposted to the Lake District Peninsulas. At the Meathop roundabout, take the B5277 to Grange-over-Sands and Allithwaite. .On entering Grange over Sands you will pass the Railway Station on your left before coming to a mini roundabout,take the first exit up the hill where you will come to another mini roundabout,take the first exit .Stay on this road passing the bandstand on your left,go up the steep hill and after about 1 mile you will enter the village of Allithwaite.You will see Kirkhead Road on your left and just past the post box is the entrance to Jack Hill,on the left.Bankfield House is the very first driveway on your left.We live in the white house at the end of the drive,Bankfield House is on the right.Park up at the rear of the house. By Air Rail and Bus. Trains run directly to Grange-over-Sands from Manchester Airport (1hr 45) and Manchester Piccadilly (1hr 27). Many rail services require a change at Lancaster to the Furness Line, including London (3hrs 20) and Glasgow (3 hrs).National Express coaches stop at Lancaster or Preston for rail connections to Grange-over-Sands. An hourly Stagecoach bus (X35) runs from Kendal bus station, connecting with the Grange Circular (532) to Allithwaite.
