How to get there
When approaching from the west, take the M6 to junction 40 at Penrith. Follow the A66 (East) for a mile and then take the A689 to Alston for 17 miles. Just before the bridge at Alston take a left turn signposted to Brampton. Follow that road for 6 miles through Slaggyford and after another mile take a right turn for a mile signposted to Eals. At the post box take a left into Eals and Stonecrop is the third property on the left.
When approaching from the east, take the A69 from Newcastle as far as the Haltwhistle bypass. Take a left turn, signposted to Alston and follow that road for about 4 miles. As you enter the village of Coanwood take the minor road at the crossroads towards Eals and after a mile descend down the valley to the village.
