The airport in Pescara (Abruzzo international airport) is, despite it's name, mainly for domestic flights. However, Ryan Air flies there from many European cities, like London, Paris, Frankfurt, Bruselles, Oslo and Barcelona. Another easy option is to fly to Rome. From the airports in Rome there are buses to Lanciano, but renting a car is a good alternative if you want to be able to explore Abruzzo and the Lanciano area. You take the A24 and then the A25 to get to the east coast. If you have your own car it's also nice to make a lunch break in one of the mountain towns along the way. May I suggest Celano? Just before Pescara you take the A14 south towards Bari, and then the Lanciano exit after 35 km on the A14.
