Getting around
By definition The Lake District National Park is enjoyed by walkers and those who enjoy the tranquility of the hills and the water. Motorised public transport takes second position here and as such getting around isn't particularly easy and in order to take best advantage of the wonderful scenery you should think about (a) having access to private transport and (b) getting away from it as soon as you can - this magical place is best enjoyed on foot.
