How to get there

Abruzzo International Airport in Pescara has flights from London Stansted, Germany, Norway, France, Netherlands and other parts of Italy. Flights run daily by Ryanair so therefore very affordable and convenient for a short city break or a 2 week summer holiday. I can arrange a taxi pick-up at Pescara airport if needed (advance notice required). Vasto is only 50 minutes from Pescara airport. You can hire a car at the airport if you wish to explore further afield, although one is not needed here in Vasto. You can also hire cars on arrival in Vasto if you wish. Vasto can be reached from flights into Rome, by getting a coach direct to Vasto in 3 hours at a cost of €14. I can supply more information on this after booking including a timetable if requested. Vasto-San Salvo station is only 10 minutes by bus from the town, and has regular trains to Pescara Centrale, one of the biggest train stations in Italy, with connections to most other parts of Itay.The ferry port of Termoli is only 25 minutes from Vasto, with ferries daily to the Tremiti Islands in spring and summer.

Getting around

Vasto -s.Salvo station has trains to Pescara and up and down the coast. Local buses run around town, to the station, to the port and to Aqualand water park every 20 minutes and cost only €1.50 no matter how far the journey. Coaches run from Vasto coach station direct to Rome, Naples and Bologna in 3 hours and cost around €15 one way. Nearest airport is Pescara Abruzzo International airport 50 mins drive from Vasto Rome is 3 hours and airports in Rome are around 4 hours.
