How to get there
IMPORTANT: From airport: take highway towards Hobart, stay in right hand lane when approaching bridge- take LH feed lane marked East Derwent Highway/Lindisfarne. You will now be on the East Derwent Highway.Keeping to left lane on that 3 lane highway, progress along about 3kms until just after the 3rd set of traffic lights, when you will see a sharp left turn into Derwent Avenue. Progress about 1 km until you see bus stop 18 on your left hand side, adjacent to Paloona Avenue. I am diagonally opposite from Paloona Avenue and Bus stop 18 on Derwent Avenue. Progress about 1 km until you see bus stop 18 on your left hand side, adjacent to Paloona Avenue. I am diagonally opposite from Paloona Avenue and Bus stop 18 on Derwent Avenue. The driveway is VERY steep so proceed carefully but at about 10/20 kms ph but do NOT stop half way up or you will be stuck and have to reverse down!

Getting around
You ABSOLUTELY NEED a car to get around successfully in Hobart-public transport is- like most rural areas of Australia- patchy and almost non existent outside peak hours. There is public transport (bus) to take you to the city at the bottom of the drive- 10 mins to Salamanca place, but realistically it is sporadic- you need a car to make the best of the city. Taxis are available easily- cab to the city from here is about $ 20 one way ( yes cabs are expensive here) We are 10 minutes from the airport by car on the way into the city of Hobart proper- detailed instructions are available to you once you book, but it is very easy indeed to find.
