AIRPLANE: The fastest way to go to the island is by airplane (Widerøe/SAS ) from Trondheim AIirport Værnes to Rørvik where you will be picked up by car.

BUS AND BOAT: Bus from Trondheim to Namsos and speedboat to ferryport Eidshaug.

BOAT: Hurtigruten (the coastal steamer) from Trondheim to Rørvik where you either take a speedboat to Eidshaug or will be picked up by car:

TRAIN: Train Nordlandsbanen to Grong and bus from Grong railway station to Eidshaug ferryport..

BY CAR::
Either
Follow the E6 to 10 kilometers after Grong, take a shortcut at Gartland, and get into R17 at Høylandet.
or
Leave the E6 5 kilometers after Steinkjer at Asp to Namsos. From Namsos follow the spectacular Kystriksveien to Lund where you must take a big car ferry to Hofles. From Hofles go to Ottersøy and follow sign to Eidshaug ferry port.
