Coming from Edinburgh take the A90 then M90 north then the A9 at Perth signed Inverness. A good place to stop for lunch and maybe a little shopping is The House of Bruar at Bruar (known locally as the Harrods of the north!). It is about an hour and a half from here. Continue on and turn right off the A9 to Grantown-on-Spey onto the A95 and continuing straight through this town you will be on the A939 to Forres where there are supermarkets and tea rooms. In Forres turn right at the Tolbooth (clock tower), go down the hill and over a small roundabout onto the B9101. This will take you through the town's outskirts and then through the village of Rafford. Do not turn off to Dallas Dhu in Rafford but continue on to the next marked junction to the right. This will take you by a country road to Dallas. Turn right at the War Memorial signed to Knockando. After about 100 yards take the first small road to the right just after the village school and before the pylon. You will find first the church, then the Manse and then on your right Manse Cottage. You have arrived!
