How to get there
Mombasa has an international airport and the drive takes about 1 hour. Malindi airport is much closer and it takes about 25mins by road.
You can also drive from Nairobi although it does take a minimum of 7 hours. There are various tour companies that organise safaris which you could include on the way to the coast.

Getting around
Most of the places you need are within a short walk away, i.e. supermarkets, restaurants, casino and Sports Hotel. However, you can easily ride a Tuk Tuk that will take you to your destination and they are very cheap. Also taxis are available or rent a car if you wish to go further afield.
