How to get there

Although in a very rural moorland location, all of Cornwall is very accessible from East Rose as we are only a short drive from the main A30 road that runs through the county. A car would be recommended for a holiday at East Rose. East Rose is located on Bodmin Moor, above the ancient Delphy Bridge between the villages of Blisland and St Breward. If you have a Sat Nav, it should bring you to us once you are off the A30. The post code is PL30 4NL.

Latitude: 50’33’18.73"N. Longitude: 4’39'42.20"W

**Please note that there have been recent road upgrades on the A30 between Temple and Bodmin, which have included the dualling of the road, and also the addition of three new over head bridges. You may find this confuses your sat nav slightly.**

From Exeter / M5 / A30

From the M5 at Exeter, take the A30 for approximately 58 miles, until you get to the bottom of a slight rise in the road, and there is an exit for St Breward. This area is called Temple. Take this exit, and cross over the A30 on the new bridge (Temple Tor Bridge). You will have bypassed the towns of Okehampton and Launceston when on the A30. Bodmin town is approximately 5 miles from here, East Rose is approximately 3 miles from here. **(If you miss this first bridge, you can take the second or third bridge shortly after and get to East Rose via the village of Blisland).

Continue on this moorland road. After approximately 1.5 miles you will pass Bradford Lodge on your left hand side. Follow this road around the bend to the left. The road will be quite narrow here, with large trees around you. Pass Moss Cottage (also on your left). The road will open up again to open moorland. You will pass a property on your right (North Kerrow). Continue down the hill. You will then get to a junction with a granite sign post with a right turn to St Breward and Camelford - take this (East Rose is only about 1 mile away). You will pass Penquite Kennels and Cattery on your left hand side. Go over the bridge at Delphy, East Rose is located just past the bridge on the right.

From Plymouth / A38 / A30

From Plymouth, head towards Bodmin, travelling on the A38 for approximately 32 miles. You will pass the town of Liskeard. Once at Bodmin, you will need to join the A30 and head towards Launceston for approximately 5 miles. Pass two petrol stations/garages on your left, and go under two bridges. Take the exit just before the third bridge (Temple Tor Bridge), sign posted for St Breward. East Rose is approximately 3 miles from here.

Getting around

East Rose is located in a rural setting on Bodmin Moor. A car is essential to get around to see the sights. St Breward is the closest village, a leisurely 35 minute walk. The closest train station is Bodmin Parkway (located out of Bodmin town itself), and cars can be hired from Bodmin town. You can arrange for a taxi to collect you from the station to take to you the town centre. If you are feeling energetic, you can bring your bike and cycle around the moors (on the roads). This will be a great way to see the sights and nature of the moors at close hand. The Camel Trail (cycle route from Wenford Bridge to Padstow) is also only a few miles from East Rose, and definitely worth a visit.
