How to get there
My house is 95 miles from Manhattan NY and you can get there in under 2 hours. You can take the scenic Taconic State Parkway to exit 72 which is 2 1/2 miles from my house or I-87 the NYS Thruway (faster because of the speed limit). You can also take Amtrak from Penn Station NYC to Rhinecliff. It is a 1 hour 40 minute train ride.

Getting around
One thing I love about this spot is that it has easy access to a number of area attractions -- Rhinebeck, Red Hook, Hudson, Bard College are all within a 15-20 minute drive. I have left two detailed map books of dutchess and columbia counties for guests to use. I find them helpful even though i have a GPS on my car. You will need a car to get around here.
