How to get to Podere Cortilla Tip: We recommend arriving via Milano (applies to the western federal states) - Parma - La Spezia - Pisa. Always orientate yourself towards Bologna - Firenze, especially in the Milano area. Shortly before Parma you have to decide whether you want to drive through to Firenze or branch off in the direction of La Spezia - Pisa. It continues: Via Pisa Autostrada A15 through the Apennines from Parma to La Spezia. From La Spezia Autostrada A12 towards Livorno. Exit at Pisa-Centro. You get to the Superstrada Firenze-Livorno (Fi-Pi-Li) (free of charge) almost automatically. You leave Pisa Airport on the right and always drive towards Firenze. Exit at Pontedera / Ponsacco. Approximately 30 km towards Volterra. Approximately 4 km after the village of La Sterza, turn left onto SR 439 dir (Strada Regionale Diramazione) towards Volterra, where you stay until you reach your destination. A few kilometers before Volterra you will pass Molino d'Era on the left (hotel, restaurant, petrol station, km 6.6 of the SR 439 dir). The SR 439 dir does not continue to Volterra here, but crosses the river Era after a left turn and immediately turns right again (direction Roncolla / Colle Val d'Elsa). After approx. 5 km - exactly at km 11.6 of the SR 439 dir - you will see a transformer house on the right in an open field. Right behind the transformer house, turn right onto a dirt road. After approx. 700 m you will reach the Podere Cortilla as the first building. Via Firenze Autostrada A1 towards Bologna - Firenze. Firenze-Impruneta exit. Here you change to the Superstrada towards Siena (free of charge). Approximately 40 km to the Colle Val d'Elsa exit. Approximately 30 km country road SS 68 (Strada Statale) towards Volterra, sometimes very winding. Approximately 2 km before Volterra (at Roncolla, not signposted) turn right onto SR 439 towards Pontedera / Pisa. Approximately 5 km to Prato d'Era, a small town without signs. Approximately 1 km behind Prato d'Era - exactly at km 11.6 of the SR 439 dir - you see a transformer house on the left in the open field. Shortly before the transformer house, turn left into a dirt road. After approx. 700 m you will reach the Podere Cortilla as the first building.
