If you are coming from Colombo the best route is Colombo – Puttlam road and from there Puttlam – Anuradhapura Road where you will see the turn off to the park on the left hand side of the road at Wilpattu Junction when you pass 43kms from Puttlam. The road is newly done and carpeted up to this point. From Wilpattu Junction to the park entrance it is exactly 7.7kms.
Turn off to Aeth Hewana is after the 6.5km on the left hand side of the road, you come to a green color gate posts and soon after the posts the gravel road you need to proceed about 400 m down this road which passes a paddy field on the right hand side as you pass the paddy fields there is a turn off to your right which goes all the way to Aeth Hewana.
